The sequel for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes has landed itself quite a prize in its recent addition to the cast. Oscar nominee and one of the stars of the Batman trilogy and Harry Potter film series, Gary Oldman, is joining the sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The Matt Reeves directed sequel has already nabbed Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee as part of the ensemble. Oldman is set to play Dreyfuss, the leader of the human resistance against the apes after they have taken power (awesome choice for a leader, I think).
The sequel is set for release on
May 23, 2014.
As for Oldman, he stars next in the Robocop remake for MGM as the doctor who engineers the robotic cop and has a new film coming out this year with Harrison Ford and Liam Hemisworth called Paranoia.
