Singing sensation Shawn Mendes released a new song late last week which will be featured on his next album, and it’s called ‘In My Blood'. Mendes has given us hit after hit since entering the music world like a ball of fire with hits like: ‘Stitches’, ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’, ‘I know What You Did Last Summer’, and so many more, but this new song has a personal message which we can all relate to. ‘In My Blood’ starts off with a mellow guitar riff that is quickly followed by a powerful chorus that will inspire you to bang your head and belt outloud.

With the release of his newest song, Mendes revealed that this new track came from his battle with anxiety which got worse after his quick rise to fame. His words are not unlike many other music stars who sky rocketed to the top with little to no time to prepare for their new reality. We’ve heard this story time and time again but Mendes took a step further and turned it into a positive by sharing it through his music allowing it to uplift others who may be suffering. Anxiety doesn’t strike only musicians but everyone and we could always use an anthem to help us get through those days when it’s extra hard, and Mendes does that with ‘In My Blood’, beautifully.

Some of the song’s lyrics are so relatable, you can feel them within your soul. He sings, “Help me, it's like the walls are caving in/Sometimes I feel like giving up/No medicine is strong enough.” And, in another section of the song, Mendes calls to the things we use to help:

“Just have a drink and you'll feel better

Just take her home and you'll feel better

Keep telling me that it gets better

Does it ever?”

We’ve been listening to this song on repeat and we know it’ll be here for those tough days just as Mendes explains throughout the track. How do you guys feel about ‘In My Blood’? Do you love it or is it not a hit for you? Personally, I want to thank Shawn Mendes for this song because we all feel this way sometimes, and for some more often then others, and this is the inspiration we need for help. Take a listen below and keep up with us for more updates on more new Shawn Mendes!
