Sleeping Lion’s ‘Patient Creature’ EP Is An Addicting Journey

Sleeping Lion have released their EP, Patient Creature. “Rug” is included in the tracklist, as well as four additional songs.

We first introduced you to Sleeping Lion earlier this year with their hypnotically seductive single, “Rug.”

The duo, Nate Flaks and Noah Longworth McGuire, have since released their EP, Patient Creature. “Rug” is included in the tracklist, as well as four additional songs.

A refreshing dose of the Boston-based musicians’ signature alternative electronic sound with easy, mellow vocals, Patient Creature is the perfect EP to unwind to or blast on a road trip with your closest friends.

Each track is unique, with a hint of sensuality. It’s fantastic.

“By Now You Won’t” is this EP’s standout track, managing to stay true to the established electronic sound while also introducing a jazz element that’s as surprising as it is addicting.

My favorite thing about the EP, personally, is the way the beats of each song constantly change. The production is something to be admired; there are so many nuances that make it a fun journey.

Sleeping Lion are currently playing a few shows this month in the Boston area. The next one is at the Boston Public Market tomorrow night (August 11).

About Sleeping Lion
The Boston-based lurid indie pop duo, Sleeping Lion, was formed by roommates Nate Flaks and Noah Longworth McGuire in the Spring of 2015. The first Sleeping Lion songs were written and produced remotely (via Skype) the following summer while Nate was living in New York and Noah was living in Rome. In the Fall, the two came together in Boston to record in Quincy, MA.

Their first single- “You Made Me”- quickly generated hype around Boston when it was released in September (2015). [Source: Sleeping Lion official website]
