Sherlockians the wait is…not over. Sorry! However, we do know something – which is certainly rare when it comes to the BBC show. PBS has confirmed that the United Kingdom will get the third season of Sherlock before the US. The highly anticipated drama will air in the US in 2014.

It has also been recently announced Sherlock will be part of San Diego Comic Con for its first-ever panel. Show creator Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss promise surprises at the event, reports Hypable.

Unfortunately for Americans, they will not be able to watch the show at the same time their British friends will. In this day and age, this means Americans will have the misfortune of running into spoilers. This may sound familiar to fans of Downtown Abbey who experienced the same disconnection in air-dates, and it’s what Luther fans are going through right now.

Earlier this year, Benedict Cumberbatch said that he campaigned for the show to air simultaneously in the US and UK. Unfortunately, his smolder and sexy deep voice weren’t enough to persuade PBS.

And unfortunately there is no date set as of yet for when the US’s wait for Sherlock’s third season will be over. We’re keeping our fingers crossed with hope that Moffat has a heart and will opt to give us a date to look forward to in a couple of weeks at San Diego Comic-Con.
