On-screen, The Hunger Games is a dramatic, gut wrenching, dystopian series, but once the director yells cut and the cameras stops rolling, there’s nothing but laughs on set. But with such a talented cast the real question is: who’s the funniest? Well according to star Josh Hutcherson, he’s the funniest cast member, especially in comparison to co-star Jennifer Lawrence!
Hutcherson graces the cover of the November issue of Seventeen Magazine and discusses the off-screen competition between him and co-star Lawrence.
“We have this debate all the time—I think it’s me! This sounds mean, but it’s true, and Jennifer would agree,” Hutcherson bragged.
Between her post-Oscar flirting with Jack Nicholson and her infamous Oscar fall, it seems impossible that someone could be funnier than Lawrence, but Hutcherson went on to explain the comedic differences between the two actors.
“Her [Lawrence] thing is being shocking, goofy, and silly—which is amazing, and it takes a talented person to do that. I like to be more clever and witty.”
Although Hutcherson may be wittier, he maintains that Lawrence can bring in more laughs.
“If you had to go on who gets more laughs, I’d say she’d be the winner.”
Too bad we can’t see Hutcherson and Lawrence express their comedic talents in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which blazes theatres November 22.
