Underworld has been one of the most enjoyable film franchises over the years and fans have been patiently waiting for the next sequel, Underworld: Next Generation. Even though the film is still in the works, it seems to have alreadylost one of its main stars, Theo James.

Earlier last year, it was widely heard that the next installment in the Underworldfilm series would focus on David, the character played by Theo James. During a recent statement though, the actor expressed his doubt about reprising his role in the upcoming movie, blaming it on his current work schedule. In his words:

“No, they have something in the works, but my involvement in it is… I think it’s going be very difficult to do that with these ‘Divergent’ movies, and my other commitments”.

Judging from his claims, we think there’s still hope for a good deal to be made to keep Theo James in the game. After all, Underworld: Next Generation was meant to put his character in center stage in the first place, but a recast could also be possible. Initial plans wanted the film to be a reboot though, so we might also be going back to that as well.
