PopWrapped has learned, through an accidental leak on the Walt Disney World website, (which has since been removed) that From November 9th, through December 31st, 2017, Walt Disney World guests will revel in holiday cheer, as Sunset Boulevard is magically transformed into an unforgettable sight, each evening. Billboards lining the boulevard will be animated, telling their own stories about the holiday season, with some of Disney's biggest characters. Even the Hollywood Tower Hotel (Twilight Zone Tower of Terror) will magically transform to tell the stories.
The Disney character moments will include:
- The “Toy Story” characters making guesses at which new toys are coming to join them this Christmas as the scene becomes enveloped in wrapping paper.
- Mickey and Minnie looking back at a hometown Christmas as the scene turns into a beautiful Norman Rockwell-style town, starting in black and white before slowly developing color.
- Olaf dreaming of his holiday wish as the scene turns into a Frozen snowscape, with a beautiful Aurora Borealis and projected snowfall.
- The Swedish Chef from The Muppets babbles as he does while turning the street into giant gingerbread houses.
As a part of Sunset Seasons Greetings, guests will watch in awe, as the Hollywood Tower Hotel transforms, via projection mapping technology, into the Hollywood Toy Hotel! (See Newly-Released Concept Art Below.)
The Tower of Terror will be reimagined to appear as if it were built out of toys, in one of many scene changes it will see during the holidays, as part of a tie-in to a Toy Story scene in the spectacular show. What do you think of the new holiday offerings at Walt Disney World?!
