TV Cancellations, Renewals And Pick Ups – Weekend Roundup

The weekend brought more cancellations, renewals and pick-ups, as networks prepare for the Upfronts. Take a look at what went on, here!

The weekend brought more cancellations, renewals and pick-ups, as networks prepare for the Upfronts, which start with NBC’s presentation this Monday morning.

With ABC’s brutal cancellations on Thursday (R.I.P. Agent Carter, Castle and Nashville, among plenty others), it really didn’t have many shows left to cancel. Instead, the alphabet network renewed its Friday night comedies and picked up a new show.

CBS also did not announce any cancellations and picked up a bunch of new shows, some of which we are really excited about here at PopWrapped. One show, Drew, about a grown-up Nancy Drew, was not picked up even if the pilot tested well with audiences, because it was “too female” for CBS’s lineup. Really CBS?

NBC, on the other hand, did cancel a few shows, but the cancellations were not too shocking, as the shows had a very slim chance of getting renewed.

And finally, FOX renewed an erstwhile fan favorite that we thought was a goner, mainly since its leading lady was killed off this season.

Look below to find out exactly what happened.

ABC:

Renewed: Dr. Ken, Last Man Standing.
