Twin Peaks Inspired Nail Art

From coffee cups to the Red Room, here are five Twin Peaks nail art ideas to get your nails into damn fine shape for the show’s premiere.

It’s happening again! Are you looking for a fun way to pay homage to Twin Peaks using nail art? Here are five ideas to get your nails into damn fine shape for Twin Peaks’ premiere on Sunday, May 21. These designs are easy, but slightly challenging. Of course the more you practice, the easier it’ll get. These examples use minimal special tools and if you don’t have a dotter, you can use a bobby pin.

Damn Fine Coffee

What’s Twin Peaks without Cooper’s coffee obsession? Here’s a relatively easy coffee cup to freehand. I’d suggest swapping out the pink for a blueish mint color similar to the Double R Diner uniforms and the mocha for a dark brown to get coffee as black as midnight on a moonless night. You’ll definitely need a nail striper brush.

Cherries

Aren’t these cherries adorable? Maybe you can’t tie a cherry stem into a knot with your tongue like Audrey did, but you can probably paint a cherry on your nails. There are so many different things you could do with the design. You can swap out the background for black, but if you do, make sure to get a red that really pops on the black. Put cherries on all your nails or just choose a few to accent. You will need a dotter for this design.

Fire Walk With Me

This is one of the more challenging tutorials. You need a steady hand, striper brushes and a lot of patience. Not that you want to open the door to the Black Lodge (or maybe you do!) by chanting “Fire Walk With Me,” this manicure is a great way to honor some of the show’s mythology.

The Red Room

Black and white zig zags plus red always equals the Red Room. There are plenty of ways to do a chevron mani and four are listed in this tutorial. Choose one that you’re comfortable with and don’t forget to add a red accent nail. When using tape to create nail designs, you don’t want to leave it on too long or put it on a matte polish. Make sure to only use tape if you have a top coat on otherwise it’ll rip off the color.

Owls

The owls are not what they seem. There are definitely no creepy owls lurking here. You’ll need reinforcement tabs and a dotter for this tutorial.

What Twin Peaks nail art catches your eye the most? I’m leaning towards the Red Room inspired manicure. Twin Peaks makes its comeback on Showtime on May 21, with a two-hour premiere at 9 PM.
