It’s getting towards that time of year again, that time of year where we recognise the hard work and achievements of the talented people in Hollywood. I’m of course referring to the Oscars.

Voting is now underway for the 2014 Oscars and with an astounding 289 films eligible for the Best Picture award, Academy members have quite the task ahead of them.

The Academy is utilising electronic voting again this year and are promising that this year’s process is an “upgraded and simplified” one. While they have encouraged members to vote using the online option, the good old fashioned paper ballot is still available.

Voting continues through until January 8 with the official nominations to be announced on January 17.

The 86^th Academy Awards will be presented March 2, 2014.
