For a few months, the “Secrets” singer-songwriter and his lover Selena Gomez engaged in a whirlwind dalliance. From sold-out shows in Europe to hospital rooms, the two seemed inseparable. However, they recently said their goodbyes. Their heavy workloads, busy schedules, and stressful, long-distance relationship can be to blame. “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them. It’s over for now, but they’re still in touch,” an unidentified source says.

Heartbroken, The Weeknd (née Abel Tesfaye) soothed his hurt by adopting a Doberman Pinscher. He showed off his adorable, new baby on his Instagram, captioning the photo, “handsome devil,” complete with a couple of emojis to boot. Maybe he and his ex can squeeze in a puppy-play-date soon? After all, Gomez is a mother to a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, named Charlie. She adopted the purebred a couple months ago with Tesfaye. They parented the puppy together, but, since their split, Gomez gained full custody. Hopefully, Tesfaye still has visitation rights.

Even though the “The Hills” singer is still mending his wounded heart, Gomez is still tending to an old flame – Justin Bieber. He definitely welcomed her with open arms. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the “Baby” phenomenon expressed his feelings uninhibited. “I’m never going to stop loving her. I’m never going to stop checking in on her. I don’t think if you end a relationship, you should end that, unless it was super toxic,” he says. Gomez and Bieber will always find their way back to each other; Tesfaye never stood a chance. At least a couple puppies came out of their inevitable breakup, right?

No matter what happens with Tesfaye, Bieber, or Gomez, at least fans get to-die-for Instagram posts of Charlie and “handsome devil.”
