The DC film franchise still has a long way to go before they can reach the level of universe building the Marvel Cinematic franchise has achieved so far. With Batman V Superman looming in the horizon, rumors have been flying on what the people behind the DC franchise may be up to in their bid to catch up.
The latest information that has come to light is that Will Smith’s DC character Deadshot may crossover to make an appearance in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film! Deadshot will be making his film debut in next year’s Suicide Squad, which will come after Batman V Superman. He is a leader of a group of super villains captured by the government with the purpose of using them as a black ops team.
A solo Batman film has not yet been confirmed, though those rumors have been particularly loud lately. In the comics, Deadshot, who is also known by his civilian name Floyd Lawton, was a longtime foe of the caped crusader, so it makes sense for him to make a film appearance with the Dark Knight.
Deadshot is not the only Batman villain who will be debuting in Suicide Squad; Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, and Bruce Wayne’s arch-nemesis the Joker, played by Academy award winner, Jared Leto, is also part of the team.
