The upcoming X-Men film has finally found its villain with Inside Llewyn Davis actor Oscar Isaac! According to MTV, the 35-year-old has been tapped for the role of Apocalypse in the film, an all-powerful ancient mutant with a slew of worshippers. At the end of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, viewers were given a brief glimpse at the villain arranging pyramids with a flick of his hands like a game of Tetris.
Isaac is having a more than stellar year. After first being cast in the new Star Wars film, he will now play a key role in a major comic book/film adaptation alongside other renowned stars like Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. The Wrap also recently announced that X-Men: Apocalypse would include younger versions of fan favorite characters Jean Grey and Scott Summers. No official actors are tied to the roles as of yet.
X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters in May 2016, giving audiences more than enough time to familiarize themselves with Apocalypse and the level of destruction he’ll likely bring.
