Heroes: Reborn Will Not See Zachary Quinto Return

As much as we all loved to hate Sylar in “Heroes”, it’s sad to hear Zachary Quinto will not reprise the psychopathic role for “Heroes: Reborn”.

It’s official: Zachary Quinto will not be returning to the Heroes reboot, Heroes: Reborn. From 2006-2010, Quinto played Sylar, the dashing psychopath with mommy issues that we all loved to hate. The beauty of his character was also the tragedy. Sure, he was a villain and he killed (or tried to kill) pretty much everyone at one point or another but in the episodes where we got to know him a little better, you couldn’t help but sympathize. And when Heroes was at its best, it showed us that heroes and villains are not always black and white, but exist in the many shades of grey in between. Quinto told Buzzfeed:

No, I’m not going to go back. I talked to them about it, and Tim reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me – I loved that job, I loved those people…I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it. Tim [Kring} was very, very understanding…I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.

Although the news is disappointing, we can look forward to Chuck star Zachary Levi joining theHeroes universe and Jack Coleman will be returning as Noah Bennet. There is no word yet on if Hayden Panettiere will be returning as Claire. Heroes: Reborn is expected to air this fall on NBC.
