Pink is back with her 7th studio album Beautiful Trauma and it is safe to say she never left. Pink announced her new album a few weeks ago with a new song “What About Us” on social media and her fans went crazy with excitement, so did we. She released her second song titled after the album shortly after and it only heightened our readiness for new Pink. Her album debuted on Friday, October 13th before she performed on SNL the following night and she lit the stage on fire.
Pink hasn’t changed her style but it continues to evolve
Pink has always pushed the limits with her music but not in the ways other pop stars of her time have done. She doesn’t do crazy things like Lady Gaga and she’s never been overtly sexual like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Pink has always relied on her edgy, honest lyrics and her ability to put on some of the best live performances of our time. But enough about her history, let’s dive in to her new album! It follows suit with her previous works and that is a level of consistency in what she turns out. She hasn’t changed her sound but melded into different facets of it as time goes by. One of Pink’s moves on this album that sets it apart from the rest is her duet with Eminem in “Revenge” where she raps a little before singing. it’s a love letter in the most wonderful form.
Pink ft. Eminem “Revenge”
Beautiful Trauma is overall a softer work from Pink but the lyrics remain just as edgy and meaningful. The album opens with the title track which is about being attracted to the worst for us but knowing that it’s right. She opens with beautifully elegant vocals and sails on from there with more. Some of the biggest standouts include: “You Get My Love,” “Secrets,” “Barbies,” and “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.” Now, we are not saying the rest of the songs aren’t any good because they are but these left the biggest impact with us. We love the way she dives deep down into soul and shares her darkest fears and how she overcomes them. To us, it seems like that is the message from her newest work, the ability to live through the worst and our rock bottom but to stare those moments in the face and come back stronger. Pink will always show us strength and we love her so much for sharing her own struggles to teach us.

Have you listened to Beautiful Trauma yet? What were your favorite tracks? Is this your favorite Pink album or was one of her earlier ones too hard to replace? We are definitely recommending this to everyone because it is just the album we needed to get through the hellish year that 2017 has been.
