Every year there are a few actors and actresses who really take off and are seemingly in every movie. Last year, Alicia Vikander got the attention of movie fans and critics alike thanks to her starring roles in Ex-Machina, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Danish Girl, and Burnt. Tom Hardy also had many excellent performances in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road, Legend, The Revenant, and two other films. Brie Larson, Oscar Isaac, and Domhnall Gleeson also had a great 2015. Which actors will get noticed in 2016? Here are 10 stars to keep a look out for, some of which you probably won't be able to avoid.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie has a few big credits on her resume, but 2016 is the year she is expected to become a huge star. Robbie will be starring as Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, two of 2016's most anticipated films. She will also star opposite Tina Fey in the war comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Other familiar faces she will be sharing screen time with in 2016 include Samuel L. Jackson, Alexander Skarsgård, Will Smith, Christoph Waltz, and many other household names.

Dakota Fanning's younger sister already has a pretty lengthy resume as a child actor, but this year is really her time to shine as she steps into adulthood. Fanning will star in Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn's upcoming film The Neon Demon. She is also set to play the lead role of Mary Shelley in the romantic biopic A Storm in the Stars about the Frankenstein writer. In addition, Fanning has three more films due out in 2016, including one based on a Neil Gaiman story.

Bel Powley

Indie film fans may recognize Powley from The Diary of a Teenage Girl which earned her a Gotham Award for Best Actress and currently pending nominations from BAFTA and the Independent Spirit Awards. Not a face recognizable to the masses yet, she has five films slated for 2016 release and her name has been among the casting rumors for Star Wars: Episode VIII. Her films for 2016 range in genre from fantasy horror to drama and comedy, really hinting at the breadth of acting talent she has. She also co-stars with Elle Fanning in A Storm in the Stars.

Adam Driver

Starring as Kylo Ren in last year's blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens has launched Driver up the celebrity ranks. Just recently he had the honor of hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live. While continuing his role as Adam Sackler on HBO's Girls and filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII, Driver has three films to be released in 2016. Among these he will co-star with Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield in Martin Scorsese's Silence. He is also set to appear in Midnight Special with Kirsten Dunst, Michael Shannon, and Joel Edgerton.

Michael Shannon

Speaking of Michael Shannon staring in Midnight Special, this man has an unbelievable roster of films coming out in 2016; 11 films in total! This includes his role as General Zod in the superhero epic Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Shannon will also play the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley in Elvis & Nixon opposite Kevin Spacey as President Nixon. And one of the other 9 films he is in this year, Salt and Fire, will see Shannon reunite with legendary director Werner Herzog. Shannon sometimes plays smaller roles, such as Mr. Green in 2015's The Night Before; however his performance is often talked about for stealing the movie. With 11 films out this year, there is a good chance you'll be seeing something from Michael Shannon.

Felicity Jones

Jones, who is already known for her involvement with The Theory of Everything and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is poised to launch into new levels of fame with four films in 2016. Jones will star opposite Tom Hanks in Inferno directed by Ron Howard. Inferno is the third film in the Robert Langdon series that has been adapted completely out of order from the Dan Brown novels. She will also appear into another book-to-film adaptation of A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, whose Choas Walking trilogy could also be on the big screen soon. Capping off the year in the biggest way possible, Jones will star in the first Star Wars anthology film, Rogue One. Not much is known about the film yet, but Jones is front and center in Rogue One promo photos.

Scott Eastwood

Son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, Scott is still proving himself to be a great actor. He has four films out in 2016 and is currently on the casting shortlist to play young Han Solo, who rumors say will make an appearance in 2016's Rogue One. Eastwood also stars alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Oliver Stone's Edward Snowden biopic, Snowden, and will appear in Suicide Squad.

Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender media2.popsugar-assets.com

Fassbender is already one of the top acting talents in Hollywood, currently nominated by the Academy for Best Actor for his portrayal of the title character in Steve Jobs. 2016 is just going to be a great year for him, and thus for us as well. Fassbender reprises his role of Magneto in the blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse. He will also star in the upcoming video game based film Assassin's Creed as Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar. Aside from these great popcorn flicks, Fassbender has three upcoming dramas including the untitled Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life, The Thin Red Line) film and The Light Between Oceans, where he will star opposite his girlfriend Alicia Vikander.

Teresa Palmer

Teresa Palmer i.ytimg.com

Aussie actress Teresa Palmer has several recognizable roles (Point Break, Warm Bodies), but isn't quite a household name just yet. Palmer has six features and one short film coming out in 2016, but the one that will get her noticed is The Choice. This romantic drama is the latest novel from Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) to hit the big screen and could launch Palmer's career as a romantic lead.

Kristen Wiig

Kristin Wiig http://3.bp.blogspot.com/

This hilarious comedian is already a widely recognized face. Last year, Wiig diversified her choices with a few serious roles in The Martian and The Diary of a Teenage Girl. This year, Wiig is back to comedies on the big screen with six hitting theaters in 2016, three of which are anticipated to be top crowd pleasers. Wiig will don a proton pack for the all-female reboot of Ghostbusters and will play Alexanya Atoz in Zoolander 2. She also stars with Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson as a group of dimwitted Masterminds who steal millions of dollars. Watch the trailer for Masterminds below.
