13 Reasons Why Announces Final Season Premiere Date With Emotional Cast Video

13 Reasons Why announces their final season premiere date with a behind the scenes cast video

What started as Hannah Baker’s story in the Netflix drama’s first season has evolved into Clay’s story, Tyler’s story, Jessica’s story and the list goes on. For three seasons now, viewers have watched the teens of Liberty High School face tough decisions as they’ve come to terms with the parts they all played in Hannah’s death. Now, going into the final season of the show, the new question is, how will they handle Bryce’s death? Alex originally pushed him off the bridge but everyone worked together to frame Monty, who was killed in prison.

Netflix released a behind the scenes video today announcing the series will return for it’s final 10 episode, shorter than usual, on June 5. In the series’ final season, Liberty High School’s Senior Class prepares for graduation. But before they say goodbye, they’ll have to keep a dangerous secret buried and face heartbreaking choices that could impact their futures forever.

Over the seasons, “13 Reasons Why” has received mixed responses, with many viewers and critics praising the show for not shying away from complicated subject matter such as mental health, sexual assault, bullying and violence, with others raising concerns about the portrayals of the very same things. A year after the show debuted on Netflix, the streamer added a video to the beginning of each season to warn viewers about its themes and when the show returned for its second season it came with a cast-filmed video cautioning viewers on the topics depicted within the show. Additionally, they provided a support website and crisis hotline numbers for those living with mental health issues.
