We were celebrating Halloween just a few days ago, but the folks at Neiman Marcus know it is never too early to start thinking about Christmas. Their annual Christmas Book is here.
The annually anticipated glossy publication has been the holiday gold standard for luxury since 1952, when Neiman Marcus began adding unique and over-the-top gifts to its annual Christmas catalog. This year's book has a little something for everyone and does not disappoint.
For the well dressed geek in your life, this year's book has a set of sterling silver lightsaber cufflinks.
Or some amazing Star Wars socks. Both are officially licensed and guaranteed to please.
If your special someone is a foodie, there is always the White Sturgeon caviar set, complete with mother-of-pearl spoon, or the Kusmi travel teas.
The real good stuff, though, hides in the middle of the book. For those who just can't abide by clothing and caviar, there are the unique badges of luxury that can only be found in "The Book".
With a cool $500,000 price tag, this 18 karat white gold, 74-karat diamond bracelet will make your girl look and feel totally amazing.
Neiman Marcus doesn't just cater to the adults and the superficial. The young one you love can get a curated collection of Caldecott Award winning children's books. And this is not just some box of secondhand paperbacks; all 36 of the titles are first or early editions and in their original dust jackets. That's the book equivalent of mint-in-box!
Need a getaway? There is a weeklong stay at not one, but three luxury English estates. Your week of the luxe life will start at the 900 year-old Alnwick Castle; from there you will be whisked away to the Wilton House, and the final stay will be at the childhood home of none other than Winston Churchill: Blenheim. All the luxury accoutrements you can imagine will be included -- and maybe even some you can't. Coming in at $700,000, it's a straight up bargain.
There is also a trip to the 59th Grammy Awards with a walk down the red carpet, a backstage tour, and a one-of-a-kind Gibson Les Paul '59 Reissue guitar, if you need a little more than the British countryside to get the blood pumping.
The sports fan can have a one day, private quarterback camp with football phenom Joe Montana. If that doesn't suit you, there is the Neiman Marcus limited edition Infinity Q60. There are only 50 available, so you better get on that quick.
The best, most luxurious of the luxurious is the Cobalt Valkyrie-X Private Plane in Rose Gold for a trifling $1,500,000, and, boy!, she is beautiful.
If all of this is too much to bear, "The Book" also contains some items that are more down-to-earth. Check out the Love to Give Collection, for gifts that will support The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation. There is a list of beneficiaries, by state, in the book and online. Also, when someone buys that beautiful private plane, Neiman Marcus will make a $200,000 donation to the foundation.
Check out The Book online or in print. I haven't revealed all of the surprises held within its pages. But don't take too long -- you only have 51 more shopping days left until Christmas!
