Ever since Deadline reported that the popular crime drama 24 would be returning as a mini-series in 2014, the World Wide Web has been buzzing about who will be cast along side Kiefer Sutherland.
One VIP that has confirmed his return is director Jon Cassar. Cassar produced and directed 24’s second through seventh seasons plus directed the show’s only television film: 24: Redemption.
“I’m very happy to be renewing my relationship with the 20th Century FOX TV and Imagine families and am excited to call action again on the set of resurrected 24,” Cassar stated in an statement quoted by Entertainment Weekly. “Considering I was not involved in season eight, this new 24 event series gives me the chance for closure on a show that is very important to me.”
Hoping to join Sutherland and the two-time Emmy-winning director on this project is Falling Skies star Will Patton.
Patton, who portrayed the villainous Alan Wilson, told Digital Spy in an exclusive interview that he wants to know what happened to his character.
“I would be curious to know what happens to him,” said Patton. “I would do it to just find out what happens to him, as long as they did not write something where he’s (just) being tortured.”
Patton also added that he would not sign on if his character did not get an interesting storyline.
“I’m not interested in going to be humiliated,” Patton added. “If they give me something fun to do, maybe.”
