The 2nd Season of Attack On Titan Is Set To Premiere In 2016 | Attack on Titan
Thank (freaking) goodness! The long awaited announcement has finally arrived. The news for the latest season of the popular anime was revealed at a celebratory event for Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow and Arrow (the anime compilation film). Many fans knew this announcement was inevitable, it was only a matter of when the news would be broken to the ever faithful fan base. The jam-packed event (attended by Yuuki Kaji (Eren), Marina Inoue (Armin), and Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa) with director Tetsuro Araki) also revealed that the 2nd compilation film (Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom) will be released June 27th, 2015. The two films are a compilation of the 2013 anime. Part I will contain episodes 1 to 13 whereas Part II will showcase the remainder of the series. The films (to me) are a pretty smart way of keeping the fans immersed in the AOT universe without actually giving them new viewing material. Its also a unique way of garnering to individuals who have never seen the anime.Fans are worried that the buzz surrounding Attack on Titan will die down before the 2nd season's premiere. I worry about this as well but we've almost lasted an entire year without the 2nd season. 2016 is a ways away but I'm more than willing to wait. I've caught up with the manga and I know for certain that it will all be worth the wait. Hopefully, the compilation films will tide fans over til the 2016 premiere date! Let us know in the comments below what your thoughts are on the anime's 2nd season announcement! Is it worth the wait or not?
