Bringing it from Houston, Texas, 3Bubble and J.Gray are aiming for the exposed heart of the hip-hop industry. With their incredible new release titled Live From The Pentagon, both 3Bubble and J.Gray pull no punches while they successfully showcase their lyrical skills. From the moment you press play on this hot album you know this is going to be an entertaining ride to say the least.
Opening with the immediately catchy and single-worthy track titled "The Life", this song begs to be played in a car with the windows down and the volume turned up loud. The lyrics make sense, the flow of the track is masterfully produced, and as an album opener, this is as good as it gets.
"Don’t Lie" brings in a beat worthy of the club you will most likely hear this track in eventually. Like the other tracks that fill out Live From The Pentagon, "Don’t Lie" focuses on saying something important in a methodical way, and all the while keeping the focus on what matters most, the music. A solid song through and through, and for many, this track is going to be one they hit repeat on more than a few times.
The current single being promoted by both video and streaming is titled "No Lie". The track is a bit of a strange choice for single when compared to many of the other tracks off this album. This is not to say that this song isn’t as good as the rest, because it is, it just simply doesn’t lift off quite the way the other tracks do. Slower than some of the other tracks, "No Lie" feels like more of a hip hop history lesson than a track aimed at redefining the genre.
Live From The Pentagon is a solid album all the way through, and it is showing up at just the right time as well. Feeling like a summer album that you will want to turn up and play often, 3Bubble and J.Gray have teamed up to bring us something different and interesting. The beats are beautifully done, the layers on every track are masterfully placed, and if you like hip hop in any capacity, then you will want to add this one to your collection as soon as possible.
