5 Reasons To Pick Up AHS Cult On DVD And Blu-ray

AHS Cult is available now on DVD and Blu-ray, so here’s the top five reasons we believe you should be picking it up as soon as possible.

AHS Cult is available now on DVD and Blu-ray, so here’s five reasons we believe you should be picking it up as soon as possible.

American Horror Story fans are some of the most passionate in current fandoms, and the seventh season titled Cult was one of their most talked about. With political tensions at an all-time high, AHS tackled the extremes of our society (in a sometimes real and sometimes exaggerated way) which caused it to be one of the most buzzworthy series on air. From the eerie atmosphere of a cult, to the story of overcoming one’s biggest fears – AHS Cult has plenty to offer for viewers.

Evan Peters excels as the terrifying Kai Anderson.

Peters has been an AHS staple from the very beginning, often portraying some of the most twisted characters on television. His role of Kai in the cult centric season intensified his acting chops and ignited a different side to his villainous roles, proving to be a complicated portrayal of a frightening mentality that exists in our own country. Whether he’s trying to be charming and enlist allies or is straight up menacing, he brings his ‘A’ game in ways that viewers hadn’t seen in his other roles. (But let’s not forget the absolutely terrifying James March either…)

It’s best when binged.

The current home-release of AHS Cult is perfect for all AHS lovers, but especially from a storytelling standpoint. Sure, the series is still enjoyed on a weekly basis – but when jumping into a season of AHS, it is easiest to enjoy with back-to-back viewings that keep you speculating until the very end. With the series additionally being condensed into 11 episodes, it is a great length and genre to set aside some viewing time for at your own convenience. I mean, who doesn’t like re-watching seasons of AHS?

Things are coming together.

It has been known that AHS has an ability to tie things together in nice, subtle ways – but one thing that happens is another reference to a survivor of another season. Yes, it is very brief at most, but with AHS Apocalypse fans are expecting to see a lot more parallels between seasons. We already know of Murder House and Coven, but the first episode of Apocalypse introduces topics that can be tied to many others. Is it possible we will be seeing someone from Cult in Apocalypse? My gut says to expect the unexpected…

Adina Porter.

Adina Porter has made waves in the industry for years now in series like The 100 or True Blood, but AHS was a role that helped push the actress to receiving her first Emmy nomination for the role of reporter Beverly Hope. The morally torn character Beverly is another major standout for the season, where she ranges in anger and resentment to utter sadness and despair. Her depiction of the character was her first full-fledged AHS role other than guest appearances, and her nomination is entirely justified. Kudos Ms. Porter!

It was willing to try something new.

AHS fans are very vocal about their likes and dislikes for certain seasons, but one thing that can be said for AHS Cult was that no matter how you felt about the series, it made you feel strongly in at least some aspect. The topic was taboo to some, necessary to others, and had teetered on concepts of real american horrors to live up to the series title. Even if you have reservations about AHS Cult, the decision to change up the traditional stories is reason enough to give it a shot.

AHS Cult is available now on DVD and Blu-ray, so check it out in stores or online, because you won’t be let down.
