80’s Kids: Marty McFly’s Hoverboard From Back To The Future Is For Sale

Here is a splendid piece of news for Back to the Future fans.

Remember Marty McFly’s pink flying Hoverboard in an adventurous chase by the bad guys? ZBoard, a company that creates and designs hi-tech electronic skateboards, has created a limited edition version board that looks exactly the same as the one used in the scene.

The ZBoard is a weight-sensing electric skateboard. It’s designed so that you won’t even need to continuously put your foot down and kick off. Just lean towards the direction you want to go and it’ll move along with you. The speed adjusts depending on how far or little you lean.

According to ZBoard’s Indiegogo campaign page, the limited edition design can manage running on 20 miles per charge, at the maximum speed of 18 miles per hour. It won’t take you to places too far, but it may be fun and can take you around to complete your everyday tasks. The only disappointing part? The ZBoard doesn’t float like it did when Marty was riding it. However, we can still cross our fingers and hope that floating boards (and cars) will exist by 2015.

You can get your hands on the Back to the Future (Part II) board right now by donating $1,500 to ZBoard’s Indiegogo page. All of net proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
