Katy Perry has caught the acting bug after her two stints as Smurfette for the Silver Screen adaptations of The Smurfs.
However, her next movie might lean towards the science fiction genre. In an exclusive interview with Metro, the “Part of Me” singer stated that she is particularly interested in one major role.
“I would really love to play Rachael in Blade Runner 2,” said the songstress “if Ridley (Scott) would just call!”
For those PopWrapped readers, who are unfamiliar with Rachael and the Blade Runner world, Screen Crush said that the role that Katy Perry would not let get away is for Rachael, an android that was created by Dr. Eldon Tyrell who had little time to develop and control her emotions.
Sean Young played Rachael in the 1982 classic film and fell in love with Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford). Ms. Perry ended the interview with one final statement: “I think I’d enjoy playing the opposite of what you expect.”
