Twitter Loses It Over Rumored Names Of Beyoncé’s Twins

Without confirmation from the parents themselves, the names chosen for Beyoncé and Jay Z’s twins have been revealed and Twitter hates them.

If you were wondering what it takes to send Twitter into a frenzy, it is the leak of the supposed names of Beyoncé and Jay Z’s twins. And this frenzy was not spurred by love for the name choices.

The boy and girl reportedly entered the world sometime last week, with most accounts pointing to Father’s Day as the twins’ birthday. Fans patiently waited around for a hint from the new parents regarding either conformation of the birth or a name drop.

Shawn and Bea are the chosen names, and fans are not swoon.

Although the names have not been confirmed, longtime choreographer Frank Gaston Jr. did announce he knew the names but was keeping them a secret, saying Beyoncé and Jay Z had to be the ones to announce the names. Which, for him, may be a smart move after Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father, was the one to announce the birth of the twins without confirmation from Bey.

But back to the names.

Fans are tearing the name choice apart, starting with the most obvious reason — the similarities to Jay Z and Beyoncé’s names. The only son of the family will be named Shawn Jr. Jay Z’s full name is Shawn Corey Carter, so his son will be the heir of not only some of his fortune but of his father’s name as well. And Bea is an obvious play off Beyoncé’s many nicknames.

In no time, Twitter users shared their input on the names:

But until Beyoncé posts a picture on Instagram, is it really official? We all could be fooled — the gender of the twins may not even be a boy and girl, — until we hear from the parents themselves.
