Chris and Liam Hemsworth are arguably two of the biggest names in Hollywood right now, with both brothers currently starring in hugely successful movie franchises, and not being short of work aside from those projects. This, however, does not stop them from having a totally normal sibling relationship. Speaking at a press conference promoting the upcoming sequel to Thor, in which he plays the title role, Chris Hemsworth opened up about the competitive trait the Hemsworth’s seem to share, saying, “We’re competitive as siblings are, in everything from sport – backyard cricket and football – to who’s in control of the remote watching TV… You understand what it’s like to have that love/hate sort of thing where you’d do anything for them, but the simplest thing can annoy you” Chris also described the difficulties that come with driving together, saying, “[It’s like] ‘You’re the worst driver! Go that way, it’s quicker.’ ‘No, it’s not!’” Thor: The Dark World co-star Tom Hiddleston went on to reveal how Hemsworth may have drawn on his own experiences when portraying the brotherly relationship shared by Thor and Hiddleston’s Loki, explaining, “I’ve actually been on a road trip with Chris and Liam, and it’s very similar to arguments between Thor and Loki”. It seems not all the Hemsworth brothers enjoy the bickering, however, with eldest brother Luke being identified as the voice of reason. “If you spend time with Luke, he just knocks both their heads together and goes, ‘Shut up, boys!’”, Hiddleston explained, with Hemsworth adding, “He’s the older brother and runs the show”. The boys can work as a team, however, and their experiences in the film industry have brought them closer as a sibling unit, with Chris saying, “All of us understand the frailty and inconsistency of the work, so we help each other with auditions, and always have, and whatever scripts we’re working on. It’s more of a team effort with this than anything else.” Well clearly this team effort is working, as you can catch both Chris and Liam Hemsworth in cinemas this coming November, in Thor: The Dark World and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire respectively.
