A new search engine, named Duckduckgo, has said it will guarantee privacy for all users.
The engine was founded by Gabriel Weinberg, an American entrepreneur and has never set out to beat Google. But users are coming to the site in their thousands, the site is recording 3 million search queries per day since mid July, with traffic doubling from last month when NASA’s surveillance program was leaked by former contractor Edward Snowden.
Duckduckgo uses about 50 sources i.e Yahoo! and Bing to come up with results that rival Google. There are also shortcuts that allow you to search through sites without being tracked by spies or advertisers.
