Rejoice, as Aaron Paul will soon be coming back to a small screen near you!
The three-time Emmy winner will be playing the male lead in Jason Katims’ drama The Way, which was ordered to series by Hulu in March.
Paul will play Eddie Cleary, a convert to a religious movement with a troublesome and controversial history. His character will have a chequered past, and the show will explain how he found solace in The Way, and eventually became a key player in the family. He will play the husband to Michelle Monaghan’s Sarah, and will suffer a crisis of faith when he has to learn to accept the truth of his situation and the world around him, which has fundamentally changed.
According to the show’s synopsis, the show examines a family at the centre of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage, and power. Each episode will take an in-depth look at “what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.”
Aaron Paul will also act as producer on the show, his first live-action foray back onto the small screen. Paul currently voices a character on and produces Netflix’s Bojack Horseman, and has appeared on the big screen in Exodus and Need for Speed.
Aaron Paul is most famous for his role as Jesse Pinkman on AMC’s seminal drama Breaking Bad, which aired its last episode in 2013. Since then, Paul has stayed away from acting on the small screen, but is making a comeback with The Way—which is apparently just a working title.
The Way will stream on Hulu this winter.
