ABC's new game show 'Child Support' has adults asking kids for help to win a big prize, but kids don't always say what you need them to.
Everyone remembers all of those “pointless” facts that they learned in grade school, or do they? ABC has brought the game show Child Support to the table. Child Support is just that, kids supporting adults when they fail to answer a question and are forced to ask a panel of children for help. As we know, kids say the darndest things and these things could get interesting.
Hosting the show is Fred Savage commonly known from The Wonder Years and cohosted by funny man Ricky Gervais, Muppets Most Wanted. Fred Savage is the front man and asks the contestants questions, while Ricky Gervais is in the back in a boardroom with the children.
Here is how the show plays out. Each contestant has the chance of winning $200,000 dollars, which is a pretty hefty amount as far as game shows are concerned, but in order to win it all, each contestant has to answer all 10 questions correctly.
Seems pretty simple and similar to many other game shows. But, where do the children come in?
Well, if a contestant does not know the answer, they could potentially leave with nothing. It is all riding the minds of America’s future. If at least one of the children in the boardroom knows the correct answer the game continues, but the prize amount decreases.
To add an extra element of comedy and fun, it appears that these kids were already pre-interviewed by Ricky Gervais. Even if the contestant gets the question right, you get to see the children trying to figure out the answer. Which brings us back to kids say and do the darndest things! What comes out of the mouths of these kids and Ricky Gervais’ comedic timing had us cracking up!
