Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is no stranger in his local tattoo parlor. The "Sugar" crooner has been inked multiple times and boasts a full sleeves on both of his arms amongst other pieces of body art. Recently Levine decided to showcase one of the newest additions to adorn his delectably toned body, a mermaid on his back.
The mermaid made her first appearance in a photo that Adam Levine posted to social media while getting some additional work done with his favorite artist. "If you ever want a tattoo, and you don't get it from @bryanrandolph... you're nuts. He's the DUDE" Levine captioned the photo.
Levine's seductive siren is pictured holding clutching a skull whack reclining in the sea. The mythical creature is both beautiful and dangerous in her pose. The body art is contained within an intricate border and also features a sunset before blending in with a handful of other tattoos on Levine's back.
While this is definitively a relatively new addition to Levine's body, it seems as though the "Harder to Breath" musician is having even more work done. In the photo Bryan Randolph appears to be working on Levine's lower back, well below the tattoo's border. Perhaps Adam Levine is adding a Maroon 5 tramp stamp to the mix? It could be a good look...
In previous interviews with People Magazine, Adam Levine has explained the significance of several of the tattoos already on his body. He cited a tattoo of the number "222" on his forearm as a personal favorite, because the number is lucky to him. He also particularly appreciates the word "mom," which is tattooed on his other arm.
Perhaps his mermaid and the mysterious new addition will become favorites in time. There is currently no word on the tattoo's meaning. Levine may have appreciated the creature for it's dangerous beauty, or he may simply be a fan of Jennifer Donnelly's Waterfire Saga. Either way we're really digging his new mermaid!
