So, from the moment Adele announced 25 and released "Hello," I have been chomping at the bit to review this one. It's worth every moment of waiting and all the excitement going in.
25 is my favorite Adele album and it's an easy 5 out of 5 stars. I purchased this album early this morning (Nov. 20) and listened through 3 times before sitting down to write. While I'm writing, I'm on my fourth listen because I can't stop.
"Hello" is the lead single and I was entranced instantly by her voice. Adele could take 15 years off and when she came back, her album would be number one.
Every song on this album is an experience in itself. It's an emotional ride, even causing me to cry as I listened on my way into work this morning. So far, "All I Ask" is my favorite song. This song captured such an amazing emotion. What would you do if you knew tonight would be your last night with someone? She wants to forget the pain and have one last good memory and end the relationship on good terms.
When Adele released the video for "When We Were Young," I was more than ready to listen to more Adele as we were all patiently (or not so patiently) waiting on the album. This song is perfection; the high note sent goosebumps down my arms. I love the idea that she wants to recapture a moment in her youth. This whole album has to do with our younger years, what we did with them, and how we handle getting older. Adele has captured what all of us have felt, are feeling, or could feel in the future.
"Remedy" is another song that really got me. Now, just because I'm pointing out songs doesn't mean I love any of them any less than another, because I am feeling every song. '
"Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" is a very fun track with an upbeat chorus and it's about moving on. I can't say enough things about 25 but I know that I have to get to an end here.
The bottom line: Go buy this album. It's the best decision you'll make in 2015.
Just hit shuffle and listen through as many times as you want. And, if you're like me and get a little emotional listening to Adele, make sure you're alone.
What song is your favorite from 25? (It's okay if you can't choose.)
