It seems just like yesterday that rumors were swirling through the music industry that Amanda Bynes would be venturing into hip-hop with Wycelf Jean and then Waka Flocka Flame. Now that those rumors have been dead and buried, it seems a former Disney darling is making her hip-hop aspirations quite the reality.
Miley Cyrus, who has been making all kinds of headlines lately, has just been announced as a collaborator on Wiz Khalifa’s upcoming studio album, Blacc Hollywood. The singer – who has recently been linked to artists like Lil Twist, Justin Bieber, Big Sean and Kanye West – should feel right at home on a Khalifa track; should her endeavor make the final cut for the project.
Wiz recently spoke to Fuse News about the upcoming album and collaboration with Cyrus, as well as collaborations with another singer that might surprise you. “I got a lot of guest appearances that I’ve already done, but none of them have been cleared for the album yet,” Wiz said. “I got songs with Miley [Cyrus], I got songs with Adele.”
Adele has been out of the spotlight since 2012 in which her song “Skyfall” appeared in the James Bond film of the same name and went on to be the first Bond theme song to win awards for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, Brit Awards and Academy Awards. Here’s hoping her collab with the rapper is also one to escape the cutting room floor.
“It just represents the lifestyle,” Khalifa told Vibe about the album. “Not really like black people in Hollywood, but just like black attitude. Not giving a ‘F’ about anything. It’s like just blacking out on the world. We’re bringing that to Hollywood.”
