Today it was announced that Adele’s new music video, for her song "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)", will premiere during Sunday's 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
In the heels of that announcement, Adele herself shared this little tease of the video on her Twitter account:
"Send My Love (To Your New Lover)"is the third single off the singer’s hit album 25. Adele is finishing up her European tour before starting her North American tour on July 5th.
The singer’s second single off 25, "When We Were Young", did not get a video, so we are sure fans are really excited about this new video as they haven’t seen one from Adele since the video for "Hello" debuted in October 22nd, 2015.
The video for
"Hello"became the most watched video in 24 hours, with a whopping 20.1 million views, taking the title away from Taylor Swift’s "Bad Blood".
"Hello"came in second place, after Miley Cyrus’ "Wrecking Ball", in fastest video to get 100 million YouTube views. It also became the fastest video to receive one billion views in YouTube; it reached that goal in only 87 days, bumping PSY’s "Gangnam Style" to second place.
The video for "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" was shot in London and was directed by Patrick Daughters, who has previously worked with many stars, such as Beck, Mika, KT Tunstall and The Kings of Leon, among others.
We are looking forward to Sunday and we have very high expectations for the video, which we are sure are going to be surpassed by the superstar.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards – and also Adele’s new video – will air on ABC at 8pm ET this Sunday, May 22nd and will be co-hosted by Ciara and Ludacris.
