Our beloved Adele received an MBE at the Buckingham Palace on Thursday. This award was presented to her by the Prince of Wales after being named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for her services to music. The Academy Award winner now has the title Miss Adele Adkins MBE [standing for member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire]. "It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed" she said in a statement. Adele has released two studio albums, 19 and 21, the second one surpassed the success of her debut album and catapulted her into super stardom. 21 won Adele six Grammy Awards and was certified 16 times platinum in the UK. In February of this year, she won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for the James Bond theme song "Skyfall." It is rumoured that Adele is planning the release of her third studio album sometime next year. Also in this ceremony were singer-songwriter P.J. Harvey, broadcaster Aled Jones and author Joanne Harris, who also received MBEs. Broadcaster Claire Balding received an OBE.
