Adidas have added to their long list of iconic shoe designs with a rainbow paint splatted shoe in honour of Pride month.
The new “Pride Pack” features the Stan Smith, the crown jewel of the famous shoe company, which first hit stores in 1965-the exact year the first LGBT rights demonstration took place in Philadelphia.
Therefore, it is only fitting that Adidas use the shoe to commemorate the month in which lesbian, gay , bisexual and transgender people celebrate their achievements.
Adidas announced the release of the reinvented shoes on Twitter, stating “When walking together, each step forward matters. A portion of proceeds will go to New Avenues for Youth. #Superstar”.

The shoes serve as a reflection of everything right with society, and it is brilliant to see a global corporation such as Adidas rise to the occasion. Each step in these shoes perfectly symbolizes each new step gained by the LGBT community.
