When it comes to matchmaking, the modern age is pretty much saying "screw it" to traditional meetups and turning to the digital world for potential dates. The most popular of these is Tinder, and now the silly ol' thing has just received its higher calling thanks to a New York animal rescue organization that is uploading PUPPY PROFILES(!) to the app's database.
Thousands and thousands of dogs per year are brought into animal rescues each year for a variety of reasons. Sometimes their past owner has a legitimate reason such as chronic sickness that leaves them wanting to give their dog a potentially better life, but more often than not do you see dogs being literally kicked to the curb for no good reason. Or in a worst-case-scenario, they are taken away for being abused by unruly owners. Luckily, organizations like Social Tees Animal Rescue in Manhattan are up to taking a call to arms that looks to saving these dogs and bringing them new, loving, caring families.
As aforementioned, Social Tees are doing their part not just by basic promotion now, but through setting up profiles for pups on the dating app, Tinder, of all things! With millions of people per day using this thing, it's a surefire way of garnering attention for the animal rescue and, hopefully, all of the pups they've recently saved in need of a home. Swiping your way through human profiles and suddenly happening on a dog might be a bit surprising at first, but calling it a match and looking into the pup's details will hopefully get more than just a couple of people interested in adoption!
While there is currently no plans to expand this project beyond New York, chances are that if it's successful it'll end up taking the country by storm. At the very least, it will bring more attention Social Tees and apps like BarkBuddy in hopes that more local dogs find themselves loving homes sooner than later.
