Marvel graced us with our first look at the upcoming second season to the massively popular series Marvel's Agent Carter last week, and this week they've released yet another. While the first trailer focused mostly on the action and badass moves by the show's star Hayley Atwell, the second promo focuses on Carter and Jarvis, the "original Marvel team", and Carter's move from New York City to Los Angeles. ABC's official synopsis says:
'Marvel's Agent Carter' returns for a second season of adventures and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home - and perhaps even a new love - she's about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
More familiar faces can be seen in this second trailer, including the return of James D'Arcy as Jarvis. Fans are still not introduced to any of the rumoured or confirmed villains, but we do know that Ken Marino has been cast as Joseph Manfredi, a mob boss, and that Madame Masque is set to make an appearance at least once throughout season two. In addition, supporting characters Howard Stark (played by Dominic Cooper), Dottie Underwood (played by Bridget Regan), Agent (now Chief!) Daniel Sousa (played by Enver Gjokaj), and Agent Jack Thompson (played by Chad Michael Murray) have all been confirmed for season two.
Aside from the small hints given in their season description, there is precious little plot information leaving lots of room for wild speculation. One shot in the trailer of a figure frozen in ice is particularly agonizing, making us wonder if that is what prompted her move out West, or if that is tied to her "most dangerous assignment yet".
Marvel's Agent Carter will premiere Tuesday, January 5th at 9:00 p.m. on ABC for a ten-episode season. Let the anticipation build by watching the second promo below:https://youtu.be/4TPGpoNGHPU
