Jed Whedon, creator of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has decided to speak out against the show’s critics. Hardcore Marvel fans have taken to the web (mainly Twitter) to express their displeasure with some aspects of the show. Whedon is letting them know that he hears them loud and clear, “When you’re in a band and you play a song and the crowd goes to the bar to get a drink during that number, you don’t play it again.”
He added: “We won’t keep doing things if people don’t respond to them, and we take fan reaction into consideration, of course.” Though he did admit that “you can’t please everyone, and when you don’t, they seem to tweet at you.”
It seems from those remarks that he’s also game for letting the fans shape the show. However, don’t get too carried away – he does have a good deal of it already mapped out. “We’ve always had a plan in place that all involved parties feel is both rewarding to those who already love the show, and to those who feel they are not getting everything they want out of it yet,” Whedon remarked.
Ahead for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a cameo by Marvel mastermind Stan Lee. You can catch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tuesday nights at 8pm on ABC!
