A month after Starz dropped
the Sky Atlantic crime drama series, Fortitude,
a star studded cast has been announced. Stanley Tucci, Michael Gambon, Christopher Eccleston and Sofie Grabol will star in the series with Richard Dormer, Jessica Raine, Luke Treadaway, Nicolas Pinnock, and Johnny Harris co-staring, reports The Hollywood Reporter
The 13 episode series focuses on the violent murder of a British research scientist and it's affect on a close-knit community, Fortitude.
Tucci (The Hunger Games) plays DCI Morton Baldwell, a detective brought in to help Sheriff Dan Andersen, played by Dormer (Game of Thrones), investigate the death. Throughout the investigation, the two lawmen are given reason after reason not to trust each other. The town's governor, whose concern is her tourism plans for the town, is played by Grabol (The Killing). Gambon (Harry Potter) plays wildlife photographer Henry Tyson and Eccleston (Doctor Who) plays head of the Arctic Biology department at the Arctic Research Center.
The series will be shot on location in Iceland and the U.K.
