Peter Pan Musical

From the hills of Austria to Neverland, NBC has announced that it will air Peter Pan Live as its next musical event.

Announced at the Television Critics Association press tour January 19, the network revealed their plans for the live performance to be broadcast for a holiday season viewing on December 4th of this year.

It comes as no surprise considering the large success of The Sound of Music, which drew an audience of more than 18 million people. The network jumped at the chance to try to recreate the success with Peter Pan Live being the ‘logical choice’, bringing back producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron who worked on The Sound of Music Live.

Not only is Peter Pan a family favourite, it also harks back to the early days of both the television industry and NBC. Mary Martin starred in the live production on NBC in 1955, with versions also appearing in 1956 and 1960.

So, I hope you’re ready to journey towards Second star to the right and straight on ’til December 4th on NBC.
