Allstar Weekend Hit The Stage For Final Headlining Concert

Friday February 22, 2013 marked the end of an era for the fans of Allstar Weekend as they played their last ever, headlining concert. The show took place at the Virgin Mobile MOD Club in Toronto, Ontario and was the finale of a tour that featured Beneath the Sun, Cute Is What We Aim For, and Tiffany Alvord as supporting acts.

The Allstar Weekend set was over an hour in length and featured many of their most popular hits and supporting songs from across their music library. Now I have been a fair-weather ASW fan since the beginning of their career thanks to my obsession with Disney Channel but I really haven’t heard much of their newer stuff. I was pleasantly surprised at the maturity of their new material; the trio has grown and their new stuff reflects that.

Zachary, Cameron and Michael definitely brought the fun to the stage as well, the whole show was very high energy and you could tell that they appreciate their fans. Zachary had a great rapport with the audience, and I’m sure the girls in the front row really appreciated the number of times he turned around and wiggled for them (yes I think there was some bum grabs, especially during the encore). There were 2 parts of the show where they band brought fans on stage to perform with them. For their hit “Dance Forever” the boys herded around 30 girls on stage to ‘twerk’ with them in a crazy dance party. For the song “Not Your Birthday,” the guys brought the winner of their rap contest on stage to perform the breakdown for the song.

One of the must touching moments of the night was when Zach, Cameron and Michael performed an acoustic version of “Journey To The End Of Your Life.” It was a beautiful ode to the band and all that they have accomplished together.  Check out Zach’s mini speech the full performance here:

And then, there was the homage to Magic Mike for the encore! All five boys donned their denim overalls (and not much else) to perform choreography to their song “Sorry Dot, Dot, Dot” and their moves were pretty racy and impressive – including some double Decker pushups. If you need to see the moves yourself:

Don’t despair if you didn’t have a chance to see Allstar Weekend on their final headlining tour, your absolute last chance to hear your favourite ASW songs live will be on Warped Tour this summer.  After Warped Tour, Allstar Weekend is going on an indefinite hiatus and Zach, Cameron and Michael, along with Dillion & Brent (touring band) are going to be part of a new band. Their sound will be different (naturally) but I’m pretty sure the fan base will still be there, if the screams are anything to go on.

Good Luck to the boys in all their future endeavors!
