They say when you sometimes spend time with someone, they become more like family than friends. This is certainly true of Wolf Bradley and Andrew Macatrao AKA The Habits. The pair grew up together in Southern California, bonding over a love of music and, inspired by the likes of Cage The Elephant and Maroon 5 among others, then decided to have a go at making it themselves, creating songs that address issues so many of us are all too familiar with – love and loss being just two – while making you want to dance and let loose at the same time. The results so far have been impressive.
As talented song-writers, alt-pop duo The Habits have, in the last couple of years, seen their lyrics connect with more fans around the world, and seen their success and popularity – with music lovers and critics everywhere – grow considerably as a result; they recently spent 6 weeks in the Top 5 of KROQ’s Locals Only countdown thanks to their track “After Party.”
Their reach and fanbase looks set to grow further with the release of their new single “Amelia” – taken from upcoming EP ‘What’s The Worst That Could Happen‘, out next month – which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere. The pair say of “Amelia”: “This song is about a love on the rocks and my personal inclination to deny that fact. It’s about ignoring all the red flags and pressing on because you really want it to work. Falling in love is easy, but sometimes that just isn’t enough. The song comes from a vulnerable place where I confront my bad habits when it comes to romance. Just because I want so badly for a relationship to make it, doesn’t mean it’s going to or even should. It’s a hard pill to swallow and it’s something I’m refusing to accept in “Amelia”.
