Raffaele Sollecito, the former boyfriend of Amanda Knox, has been caught trying to flee from Italy after being re-convicted of murdering Meredith Kercher.
Knox herself managed to return to the U.S back in 2011, but Sollecito, who was her boyfriend at the time, decided to stay in his home country. However, following his conviction yesterday, when he was sentenced to 25 years in prison, Sollecito tried to flee the country.
He is not allowed to leave the country during his legal proceedings. PerezHilton.com reported that Italian police stopped him at the border of Austria and Slovenia on Friday morning.
Unless the Italian Supreme Court dismisses the case, as it did back in 2011, Sollecito will be imprisoned in his native Italy to serve his sentence.
