AMC infuses danger and drama into the history of the American Revolution in its new series TURN . TURN, starring Jamie Bell and Seth Numrich, explores the real life story of America’s first spy ring. According to the show’s synopsis: “TURN centers on Abe Woodhull (Jamie Bell), a farmer living in British-occupied Long Island who bands together with his childhood friends to form the Culper Ring -- an unlikely team of secret agents who not only went on to help George Washington turn the tide of the war but also gave birth to modern spycraft.”
The series, based on Alexander Rose’s book Washington’s Spies, aims to shed light on this relatively unknown side of the Revolutionary War, focusing on the lives of the Culper Ring as they struggle to make the right choices and keep their actions hidden in the complex, dangerous, and highly unpredictable world of espionage. TURN airs Sunday nights at 9/8 c.
