Step Right Up! The Plot For 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Revealed | American Horror Story

Grab your favorite bearded lady and that two-faced friend, our old friends from American Horror Story have returned! But this isn’t your average freak show, this is a traveling company of individuals that have been sworn off by society. And in the midst of it all is cabaret star Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) who will surely put on a show we won’t soon forget. In Ryan Murphy’s latest dosage of impeccable horror, American Horror Story: Freak Show, we see a return of familiar faces, brand new faces, and quite possibly the most controversial AHS to hit your screen. Although there have been rumors and speculations for the past few weeks, Murphy has not hid the fact that he is very secretive on the nuisances of what is to occur this season. But there was some news that spilled over the course of the last few days that has us AHS fans cringing with joy. We all know Lange’s character is going to be the darkest. She returns as a ring leader with a band of freaks and opens up her tent to the residents of Jupiter, Florida. Another familiar face, or faces, is Bette and Dot; conjoined twins that will be played by Sarah Paulson. Ethel Darling will come bustling in as the bearded lady (Kathy Bates). Ethel is on the hunt for her ex-husband, the world’s strongest man. However, he shows up to the show with a new wife, triple breasted Desiree Dupree, aptly played by Angela Bassett. Together, the Bearded Lady and the World’s Strongest Man have a son. A young lad with lobster like hands named Jimmy. Not all characters are part of the freak show. Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare will return as conniving con-artists. Frances Conroy will also return as her son, who is aspiring to join the freak show. Patti LaBelle was also revealed to be part of the freak show, and it will definitely be interesting to see how her character- which is deemed missing on the show- will play out in the series. Perhaps the most tantalizing and horrifying aspect of the new show is the introduction of two villains. Scoundrels who Murphy is convinced will scare the- well you know - out of you. If you suffer from Coulrophobia, you might want to stray away from the episodes that feature the clowns that are on the loose and not too happy that the show has come to town. Twisty, a former murderer, is a clown that dons a mask covering the lower half of his face. Murphy has stated the reveal of the face will make “you faint in terror.” In true AHS fashion, there will be a two part Halloween episode featuring a man with two faces. One that is in the front, and one that is in the back. Interestingly enough, most of the characters will need to change their true form to fit into character, but one individual was casted on the show because of her physical appearance. You might have gotten a glimpse of Jyoti Amge, the world’s smallest woman, following Jessica Lange’s character in the trailer. The reveal of information has definitely sent the anticipation to an all-time high. But if you are fan of the series you surely will not be disappointed! American Horror Story: Freak Show will premiere on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX.
