Amy Poehler And Tina Fey Film Hilarious Star Wars Spoof

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey filmed a hilarious Star Wars spoof to promote Sisters, their new movie which opens on the same day as Star Wars.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have a new movie coming out called Sisters. The film is about two siblings who throw a house party in their childhood home before their parents sell it. Poehler and Fey play the titular sisters, with former Saturday Night Live cast members Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, and Kate McKinnon all co-starring.

The movie sounds hilarious, and with stars like that it seems sure to be a box office hit. The downside is that it is opening on December 18, the same day as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While other stars may have simply increased promotion, or given up altogether, Fey and Poehler have developed a way to get fans to see both films. Fey joked “we have a hashtag and we’ve started a social media campaign with #YouCanSeeThemBoth”. Ike Bairnholtz, another costar from the film, added “there’s like seven Star Wars, but there’s only one Sisters.”

If that wasn’t enough to convince you to see both, Poehler and Fey also filmed a hilarious spoof of the Star Wars vs. Sisters box office showdown.

Sisters looks like quite a hilarious film, and is sure to showcase the great comedic chemistry between Poehler and Fey. The two have been friends since their start in comedy, and have grown their comedic style alongside one another. Poehler feels she is “chosen sisters” with Fey, saying that “you get lucky if you get to choose your family and sisters and people who knew you then, but you’re not related to them”.

What do you think, movie fans? Will you participate in #YouCanSeeThemBoth?
