I have just been handed urgent news…Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues has itself a brand new UK trailer, starring the one and only Ron Burgundy! He’s got some advice for viewers – namely how to spend one’s money when it comes to “real moments worth paying for.” It seems things aren’t going so smoothly for Ron and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), given his insistence that no good can come from succumbing to the temptation of smelly pirate hookers. Lucky for us, the gang seems to still be intact. We’re treated to some glimpses of Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Brick Tamblin (Steve Carell), and Champ Kind (David Koechner). We even get to see Baxter, Ron’s furry companion! Based on the taste we get of the character, I think it’s safe to say Ron Burgundy is back, and he’s in fine form this time around! It certainly helps that we can look forward to some extra doses of star power – including Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, and Nicole Kidman. Anchorman 2 will also feature a cameo from god himself – by which we mean Kanye West, of course. While we have yet to be blessed with an official synopsis of the long-awaited sequel’s plot, director Adam McKay has said this of the story: "[It starts] when all the news started changing in '78 or '79. Local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors. We know these guys never deal well with change, and there's a big blast of change coming. And they're not going to handle it well."  For now we’ll have to use our imaginations about what that might entail. In the meantime, though, enjoy the new trailer: [youtube=]
