Andrew Garfield Dishes Praise Onto The New Spider-Man

Former Spider-Man Andrew Garfield has given his opinion for the first time on the brand new webslinger.

It’s fair to say Andrew Garfield didn’t necessarily get a fair crack of the whip at his portrayal of everyone’s favourite webslinger, Spider-Man.

After just two movies – one was good, the follow-up not so much – Sony Pictures decided to ditch their new vision completely and go in a different direction for the second time in ten years.

Earlier this year Marvel announced that young British actor Tom Holland was to join the re-rebooted franchise. For this Spidey incarnation though Marvel has their rights back, so he’ll be thrown straight into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is unfortunately something Garfield will miss out on.

Speaking for the time regarding the new direction, Garfield praised the new Peter Parker.

It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor.

He was in this movie, The Impossible, and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And [he’s] a dancer, so his body’s the right [form].

I’m just really excited to be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it.

There we are then, it seems there are no hard feelings and just like us, Garfield is looking forward to seeing Tom Holland’s first appearance as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War before he gets his own Marvel produced reboot.
