First, it was Justin Bieber. Now, Andy Cohen joins the ongoing two-day Instagram feud, calling Amandla Stenberg a "jackhole" during his show Watch What Happens Live on Sunday.
After Kylie Jenner posted a selfie with her hair styled into cornrows, Stenberg commented,
"When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter."
Jenner fired back with a simple, "Mad if I don’t, Mad if I do…. Go hang w Jaden or something." The Jaden in question is Jaden Smith, whom Stenberg went to prom with a few months back.
Andy Cohen brought up the comment war during his show and called Stenberg the aforementioned name. He consulted with his guests for the evening, Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox and Vogue editor-at-large, André Leon Talley. "White girls in cornrows ... is it OK or nay, Laverne and Andre?” Cohen asked.
Both Cox and Talley found no issue with his name-calling, with Cox referencing Bo Derek, an actress known for her role (and cornrow wearing) in the celebrated 80's film 10.
People took to Twitter and other forms of social media to express their disapproval of the comments directed towards Stenberg, rallying others to #BoycottBravo.
Jenner has yet to say anything beyond her retort on Instagram. Meanwhile, Stenberg posted this photo on her Twitter page with the caption simply reading, "words by me."https://twitter.com/amandlastenberg/status/620443549532876801
