Aside from her movies, Angelina Jolie is well known for her work as a Special Envoy and Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In this capacity, she has gone on field missions all over the world and has represented the UN agency in a diplomatic capacity to coordinate efforts in helping displaced people find a lasting solution to their plight.
With that in mind, it doesn't seem far-fetched that she would seek political office. Star power is great and all, but in setting agendas, one would require actual authority to get things moving.
Speaking to Vanity Fair
, the Hollywood Movie Star said
that “When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered.”
She then added that “Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility.”
But when asked directly if she will actually seek a life in politics, Jolie simply answered with "I am open," but shared no definite plans
Perhaps we will see her as a senator someday? That would definitely make C-span more interesting.
